Authenticating Works

Between the 1970s and 1990s, the interior design boutique Amaral, founded by Olga and Jim Amaral, produced a series of decorative objects. These objects — carpets, curtains, textiles, wall hangings, pillows and furniture — became a source of inspiration for other textile and interior design boutiques to produce close interpretations.

Please note that these objects produced by Amaral are not considered a part of Olga de Amaral’s oeuvre, and the “Amaral” label is not equivalent to the artist’s signature or a certificate of authenticity.

Before selling or acquiring a work attributed to Olga de Amaral, please make sure to authenticate its origins and ensure it is not a decorative copy.
